    About Me TOMMY BLACK Host of “The Take-ova” Friday and Saturday nights 10pm until 2am Born and raised in New Jersey, Tommy Black developed a love for music at a young age. Growing up listening to mix shows on the stations once known as 98.7 KISS out of New York and WBLS out of Philly, Tommy has always had the desire to be on the radio. Not until attending Lincoln University in Jefferson City Missouri did the opportunity present itself. Tommy spent much of his free time at his college station KJLU. While there, he learned the basics of radio, but as an Accounting major, life took Tommy in a different direction. In 2007, Tommy revisited his desire to be in radio. After enrolling in broadcasting school, he applied for an Internship at WGCI-FM in Chicago. His energy and persistence quickly caught the attention of management. Tommy was hired as the producer of the number one afternoon drive show in Chicago. (Riot Radio with Tony Sculfield) Within a month, Tommy was offered the opportunity of a lifetime, which he did not hesitate to accept. An on-air position for Friday and Saturday Nights. Tommy is completely dedicated to his work on-air and behind the scenes at WGCI. Tommy has a passion for motivating children. He is a member of the Merrillville Pop Warner board of directors also a football coach for the organization. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, Madden football on the PS2, and Grey Goose on the Rocks! J

    When your hands are tied, What can you do?

    Monday, July 7, 2008, 03:11 PM CST [General]

    NAME IT and CLAIM IT, BELIEVE IT and RECEIVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
    It's a POWERFUL PRAYER! When you are DOWN to nothing ... God
    is UP to something'

    Father, in the Name of Jesus, bless me even
    while I'm reading this prayer and bless the one that sent this to me in
    a special way. Open doors in our lives today, Save and set free!
    Give us a double portion of your Spirit as we take back everything that
    the devil has stolen:

    ****Emotional Health
    ****Physical Health
    ****Finances
    ****Relationships
    ****Children
    ****Jobs

    ****Homes
    ****Marriages

    I cancel every plot, plan and scheme the enemy has
    devised Against us in the NAME OF JESUS. And I declare:
    NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US WILL PROSPER.
    I speak LIFE into every dead situation. And, I thank you that nothing
    is over until YOU say it's over! Speak prophetically into our lives and
    to our situations:

    ****our households are blessed;
    **** our health is blessed;
    **** our marriages are blessed;
    **** our finances are blessed;
    **** our relationships are blessed;
    **** our businesses are blessed;
    **** our jobs are blessed;
    **** our children are blessed;
    **** our grandchildren are blessed;
    **** our parents are blessed;
    **** our siblings are blessed;
    **** our ministries are blessed;
    **** our decisions are blessed;

    **** our friends are blessed.
    **** Mortgages are paid and debts canceled;

    our hearts' desires are on the way; According to YOUR perfect will and plan
    for our lives.
    YOU SAID YOU'D NEVER FORSAKE US! IN JESUS' NAME!

    AMEN!

    Say this prayer, and then send it to EVERYBODY YOU KNOW.

    DMX, Jay Z, Jeezy, Keyshia Cole.....

    Thursday, July 3, 2008, 02:27 PM CST [General]

    More good, and BAD news in Hip Hop on this 3rd day of July 2008.  Young Jeezy, L L Cool J, Jay Z, DMX.  I don't understand it.  Come see what's up!

    DMX ARRESTED YET AGAIN, HE MAY BE BEHIND BARS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS

    After two arrests in Miami last week, DMX is back behind bars again in Arizona for violating the strict terms of his bail bond. MTV.com reports that as soon as the rapper stepped off of his flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Wednesday morning (July 2nd), he was taken into custody and he may be stuck behind bars for several months. His lawyer, Murray Richman, explained, "He was supposed to be in court today in Arizona, but he was picked up as soon as he arrived. The arrest was a result of him being arrested in Florida. That arrest violated the strict conditions of his $7,500 bond in Arizona, which stated that he could not be arrested while on bail." DMX was arrested for attempting to buy marijuana and cocaine on June 27th in Miami and on June 23rd he was arrested on a warrant for driving with a suspended license. He was charged with four counts of drug possession and seven counts of animal cruelty following a raid of his home in May. Richman believes that DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, will eventually prevail in the animal cruelty case. He said, "I believed that we had a good, viable defense in that (animal cruelty) case, but I'm sorry to say that Earl played into their hands when he got arrested for driving without a license and for being in a drug-prone area, which violated the terms of his bail. It's very upsetting after eight years of working and trying to keep him out of trouble to have him get caught up for this nonsense. He took a situation that is a win, and we will win, and it places us in a precarious situation." DMX knew before boarding the flight that he would be arrested. He may be forced to stay behind bars until the animal cruelty case goes to trial, which may take several months.

    JAY-Z AND 40/40 NIGHTCLUB FACING CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT

     A New York judge has approved a class action lawsuit against Jay-Z and his 40/40 nightclub. The New York Post reports that former employee Celeste Williams is claiming the club did not pay minimum wage or compensate for overtime hours. Now her attorney is seeking to determine whether or not other current or former employees want to join the lawsuit. The court has ordered 40/40 to release the names of all employees since 2005. Williams' attorney Maimon Kirschenbaum said, "This is a good day for restaurant workers all over the city." So far 10 to 20 former employees, including bartenders and waiters, have joined the lawsuit. Jay-Z and 40/40 had no comment.

    LL COOL J JOINS THE G-UNIT ONSTAGE DURING NEW YORK PERFORMANCE

     50 Cent, Tony Yayo, and Lloyd Banks hit the stage at New York City's Nokia Theater on Tuesday night (July 1st) to celebrate the release of the G-Unit's Terminate On Site. Little did the guys know that their female fans would be in full effect. During the set a bra was thrown on stage, as well as a pair of Louis Vuitton-patterned thongs. MTV.com reports that 50 Cent told the young woman, "That ain't right, baby. You nasty." The rapper then picked up the thongs and shoved them in Lloyd Banks' pocket. Banks wasn't amused, and he told 50 Cent, "Them s**ts ain't even Victoria's Secret." LL Cool J joined the G-Unit for a performance of "Straight Outta Southside." The rap legend rapped his verse from his mixtape version of the song. Later in the set, 50 Cent took a shot at Young Buck. He mocked Young Buck's "Shawty Wanna Ride With Me" and rapped, "I wanna do Buck. 'Shawty Wanna Cry With Me.' Y'all wanna hear that? 'Shawty Wanna Cry With Me.' "

    YOUNG JEEZY FINALLY ADMITS HE WAS DATING KEYSHIA COLE

    Young Jeezy and Keyshia Cole were rumored to be in a relationship last year but neither party would publicly acknowledge the relationship. Cole sang about heartbreak on her last platinum album, Just Like You, but never named names. During a recent interview with Vibe magazine, Young Jeezy finally spilled the beans on the relationship. Jeezy told the magazine, "Keyshia asked me to marry her, bought me a ring and everything. She not gonna tell you different. I was grown enough to tell her, 'Look baby, that isn't what it is right now. I'm trying to get my **** together. I'm trying to get my money, take care of me and mine.'" The rapper, who has already endorsed Barack Obama, also shared that he's cool with Republican presidential candidate John McCain, whom he met during a Saturday Night Live taping. He said, "No disrespect to my man Barack, but I f**k with John McCain. He greeted me like a God. The fact that he acknowledged me was crazy. I said, 'I'm Young Jeezy, and it's rough out here.' He blew me off at first. I was like, 'Nah, for real. It's rough out here, so what you gonna do to change it?' ... And he gave me a look back, like, 'I know.' " Young Jeezy's third solo album, The Recession, is due out in August.

    RZA FINALLY ADDRESSES WU-TANG CLAN IN-FIGHTING ISSUES .

     It's been several months since the Wu-Tang Clan released their 8 Diagrams project. Prior to its release several group members expressed their frustration with RZA but the group's leader and in-house producer never publicly responded to his band mates until now. RZA told Allhiphop.com, "It's like the family stuff is definitely getting out to the public, and the issues that got to be resolved, everybody got their own manager, everybody got their own lawyer, and they got these motherf**kers that are looking at me like a hamburger. And so for the people on the outside looking in, they looking at what RZA's doing, he's on that, he's on this, he must be robbing y'all or something." The producer added, "I don't make money off of the Wu-Tang Clan. The money I've been making, I had to clear a whole new career for myself...I was telling Raekwon one day, 'Yo n***a, I never got a Wu-Tang royalty check in my life. I never got a royalty check for record sales in my life. That's why I'm letting brothers know that I'm not getting paid off the hard work we did together." RZA also addressed the lawsuit that group member U-God filed against Wu-Tang Corporation for $170,000. He said, "They sayin' U-God suing the RZA for a $170,000. You know what? I could never owe you $170,000. But even if I did owe you (that), U-God, after all these years of millions you made, motherf**ka, you gonna come back and b***h about a $170,000?" RZA added, "I'm the one who gave you, when nobody would sign U-God, I gave him a million dollar f**king deal! And of that million dollars, I put seven hundred thousand that's in his pocket. And the rest went to making the record (U-God's debut, Golden Arms Redemption), and I still spent hundreds of thousands on videos for 'That's Gangsta' and 'The Bizarre,' and all that." In the end, RZA blames the infighting on a lack of understanding of the recording industry. He explained, "Nobody is doing something wrong, this industry has been like this since the '60s, homey. It's very rare that a black artist even makes it 10 years in this business. It's very rare that Hip-Hop artists make it this far. We was getting top dollar compared to what some of these n***as was getting. You can write that off, it's not coming back. If I give you a million and you only get a dime a record after deduction and everything, all that s**t, from that dollar, you sell 50,000 you gonna owe me. That's the system. That's how it is." RZA's new album as Bobby Digital, Digi Snacks, is in stores now. Recently RZA explained that he now uses the character differently. He said: ["Before it's like the character was an alter-ego like I needed that character I think to express some of my own feelings and things like that. Now I'm expressing my feelings through the character but it's not because of necessity. It's more like I'm just trying to make the character powerful and add a lot of imagination to it."
