Janet Jackson has been ordered by her doctor to postpone more dates on her Rock Witchu tour.

The R&B superstar's first tour in seven years has been put on hiatus by Jackson's mystery illness, and now it has claimed another string of concerts.

The "Nasty" singer was set to resume her tour on Monday in Verona, New York after she was forced to cancel a concert in Connecticut on Saturday night.

Now, the tour has been thrown into further doubt, after the star's doctor urged her to scrap several more shows, including a sold-out gig at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday.

Promoters have promised fans the dates will be rescheduled.

Jackson axed her first show in Montreal, Canada on September 29 after checking into a city hospital with an unknown affliction.

No official explanation for the latest cancellation has been given.
