On September 2, 2008 is the first day of school, please send your child, dont worry about supplies and clothes parents because this is the only way we are going to get funded, for every child that is in school on the first day, we get those funds, if you keep your child out of school for what Rev. Meeks is doing or over things like school supplies, clothes or shoes, thats not fare, come on parents stand up and fight for what you believe in, you want your child to have the best education the extra activities after school, stand up and fight for your son/daughter school. We can do this and get the funding for what we need, do you know how many billions fo dollars they spend on a war thats not even our fight. all the money can go towards our children education. All the politians can find funds for the 2016 olympics, CTA, building extra jail cells, big brother lights on every corner, how come they cant find funds for our children. Just think about it, if we send our children to school on the first day and we still dont get the funding we need, we as parents need to take a stand and march right up on the governor door steps and ask him where is the money, thats all I'm saying. STAND UP PARENTS AND LET YOUR CHILD BE ACCOUNTED FOR, WE WANT OUR INNER CITY CHILDREN TO HAVE THE SAME EDUCATION AS THE SUBURBAN SCHOOLS HAVE, ITS NOT A RACE THING, ITS A PARENT THING, STAND UP, SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL.!!!!!!!!!!

I am sitting here watching the news and seen a teacher and child was killed. When are we, as people, going to stand up and be accounted for what we do; and our children that are really being misguided out here in these streets. I am really pointing my angers towards parents, because I hear everyday how politicians and other people can get out here and make a difference for our children, when are these parents that is not taking responsibility for their children going to step in and say : okay enough is enough. The moment your child is incarcerated or dead out here on these streets the first thing parents say is: My child was a good kid, but this same child, just smack and robbed somebody grandma and shot the three year old outside riding his bike, but you want to stand in front of cameras and say; not my kid. YES your kid, what is wrong PEOPLE, are we that lost that we have to let the prison system and the politicians take over how we raise our children. I hope some children read my blog and get where I am coming from, because this crime is getting really ridiculous. I read in the Suntimes this morning, where an 8th grade child dont want to attend his graduation because some fool walked up on his teacher and shot her while sitting in her brand new car, that woman made a difference in some children lives and some idiot took her life. If you had any dignity you would turn yourself in and deal with the consequences -- you took someone mother away from them, how dare you. As a country we need to worry about things like how the gas prices, bus fares, groceries, a place to stay and other things like taxes, we need to focus on these corrupt office members that is stealling the money and raising taxes, so that we cant live, but instead, mothers like me have to worry about if my son or sons because I have three, getting shot coming from school or from the store, because you cant isolate them, I am very angry at how our state is going to violence even the police, they are talking about bringing in swat teams and automated weapons, our troops need to be here, we are in WAR.
